Jessica Shoemaker, ND’s naturopathic style focuses not only on the physical body but also the mental/emotional, environmental and spiritual spheres of an individual.
She strives along with her patients to find their underlying cause(s) of dis-ease and to remove their obstacles, thereby allowing their body to resume its dynamic ability to find homeostasis and optimal health. Jessica focuses on prevention of dis-ease and maintenance of wellness once achieved.
Jessica Shoemaker, ND has returned to her hometown in South Central Pennsylvania to offer her expertise in alternative and complementary therapies as a consultant at Natural Paths to Wellness. Her passion is not only to design individual wellness programs for her clients but also to work with conventional healthcare practitioners providing support to patients who are already under care.
Jessica enjoys spending her free time hiking, skiing and traveling with her husband, Justin and two small children, Owen and Samantha. Naturopathic medicine is her passion and continuing to become a humble healer is her top pursuit.
"As a practicing psychiatric nurse, I know that there is much more to curing a disease than just treating its signs and symptoms. A breast cancer diagnosis caused me to reassess my personal life choices. Dr. Jess not only provided me with excellent scientific advice, but also explained the “why” behind that advice. With Dr. Jess’s advice, I made lifestyle changes in the food I eat and the exercise in which I engage. I am pleased to say that I feel and look younger at age 48 than I did at 38. Thank you Dr. Jess, for treating the root of disease, not merely its symptoms."
